Our final stop in Cinque Terre was the adorable town of Riomaggiore.
Of all the towns in Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore is my favorite. It has it all: a cute marina, a lovely beach, colored buildings leading up the mountainside, rustic alleyways, and cozy cafes and shops.

There is a lot to do in Riomaggiore. You can spend the entire day just exploring the town's shops, cafes, and restaurants. If the weather permits, you can rent a boat or join a boat tour. We saw a lot of signs for pesto making classes, which was less appealing to me as I make my own pesto and it's very easy to do. If you're into wine, you can stop in at one of many local wine bars and take part in a tasting from local vineyards. To cap it all off, you can grab some quick bites and head down to the marina for a picnic while enjoying the sunset.
We chose to spend much of our time doing the latter. The marina is the heart of Riomaggiore. Just a short hike away, past the docking spot for the ferries, you'll find a cute little beach.

The beach isn't sandy, but it is inviting. While my dad went for a swim, I tried my hand at stacking rocks. Not bad for my first time!

After catching the sunset from the beach, we made our way back to our base in La Spezia, bringing our Cinque Terre adventures to a perfect close. But our Italian expedition was far from over. Next stop: the Amalfi Coast!
With gratitude,
Amin
